NWOH-Net stands for the Northwestern Ontario History Network. It is an interdisciplinary organization of scholars, museum workers, amateur historians, teachers, and the interested public dedicated to developing the enormous educational potential of Northwestern Ontario's past to the Internet and the World Wide Web. NWOH-Net's primary function is the running of an electronic discussion group focusing on research and teaching on the history of Northwestern Ontario. Originally based at the Department of History, Lakehead University, in 2008 it began to be run out of the Lakehead Social History Institute.
